I am an experience designer for the Internet of Things.

Complexity needn’t be complicated. I thrive on making concepts approachable for  customers, clients, execs and developers.

I am the Senior User Experience Design Lead for Jawbone. My team are the digital product designers responsible for the interaction experiences of Jawbone products and online presence. I play in the sandboxes of software, mobile, web, and hardware design. At Jawbone, my focus is design for mobile apps, personal wearable devices and portable audio products.

Jawbone acquired Visere, the Portland based interaction design studio where I had been leading user experience since Feb 2012. Half of our time was spent on our app, Clibe, the cloud-powered journal for iPad, and the other half on design for digital products like Jawbone UP, Unstuck, and Microsoft Courier.

I spent 5 years as a Digital Creative Director for Grady Britton branding agency. I built the digital department, pitched new business, and lead digital strategy there. You’d find me at the whiteboard and behind the wire frames, designing digital marketing campaigns and developing processes.

I’ve been a musician and DJ for as long as I could pluck a string or press a button. That lead to a job in a recording studio and video post production out of college. After the .com bust settled, I started a boutique design firm with my wife, Becky Sue. We draw inspiration from each other and treat our work as a laboratory; an opportunity to keep learning and improving as designers.

      Visere talent was acquired by Jawbone in 2012. My role is to develop and refine concepts for digital products based on consumer research and executive vision. I work with a design and development team and industrial design firm Fuse Project on the user experience and interaction design of future products.

      Interaction design studio. I designed user experiences for mobile, but often for theoretical devices or systems still in R&D. My duties were strategic and conceptual, although I often designed interfaces and developed prototypes as well.

      Online brand development, digital strategy, creative direction. I represented digital in new business development pitches and designed campaigns based on business goals. From research, focus groups, strategy, and through UX, wire frames, and development, I directed the digital expression of our brands by managing the build of websites, web apps, mobile apps, and integrations with social content.

I designed the visual interactions of the social distribution platform, built the Rhino Lacrosse brand from the ground up, and am consulting on the launch of the startup, PivotPlanet.

      Digital strategy, graphic design, and interaction design for e-commerce custom golf club manufacturer. Designed and maintained all visual aspects of the online brand, as well as all print and packaging materials.
