Cables on the cheap, debunking the monster.

No matter what your situation is, get it out of your head that you must have gold plated cables or wires.  In fact, you can pretty much roll your eyes at any cable that claims better quality over any other.

There will likely will never be a human with the ability to see or hear a difference in video or sound quality based on the quality of the cable.  Sure, we can talk about shielding, strain reliefs, even length, but when it comes down to it, a Shadio Rack cable sounds and looks every bit as good as the gold plated Munster cable at 10 times the price.  The electrons jiggle the same in either.

So, don’t be embarrassed about your $5.50 HDMI cable and the dollar bin audio cables behind your $10,000 home audio system.  Be proud you didn’t pay $100 for a single cable, and use the cash you saved for something important, like coffee.

It’s all about Monoprice - http://www.monoprice.com/ - excellent online store with extremely affordable calbes.

This post is spot on - HDMI cables are essentially the same, whether they’re $1.70 or around $100 - there’s hardly any sort of difference in picture & audio quality.

    That’s why I hate Monster :)

I’ve used http://monoprice.com/ for cheap cables and things like this.

    Thanks for the link though!

I concur! I use Monoprice.com for all my cable needs. Why I even spent $50 today with them, for an HDMI Switcher and 2 HDMI cables. About the same price as one munster HDMI cable.
